Editor’s Note: From Albuquerque’s Stop the War Machine: “As usual, the Israeli government has lied and they are now threatening a full scale invasion [of Rafah in southern Gaza] which will mean thousands dead and wounded. It may also mean most forced into the Sinai desert through the Egyptian checkpoints as Netanyahu and others have talked about resettlement and refugees outside Gaza. This is almost an exact repeat of the Nakba in 1948 when the State of Israel was formed and 750,000+ Palestinian refugees were created and never let back into their historic homes in Palestine. Also more than 500 villages were destroyed and tens of massacres took place.
Tonight, an EMERGENCY PROTEST has been called at the UNM Bookstore, Central and Cornell, 5-6 pm to make our voices heard all the way to Gaza and to say NOT IN MY NAME as an American, as a Jew, as a human being. Stop the killing now! Immediate Ceasefire! No more military aid to Israel!
