On Thursday, February 15, at 4 pm in the Jemez Room at Santa Fe Community College the public will have another opportunity to comment on the proposed Environmental Assessment of the 14-mile Caja del Rio high voltage power line from Los Alamos National Laboratory to Santa Fe. At the previous Department of Energy public hearing on the transmission line on January 11 the vast majority of those who attended expressed their opposition to the project citing the importance of the cultural, ecological, recreational, and historical resources of the Caja del Rio plateau that would be compromised. The DOE extended the comment period to February 20. You can attend the hearing at this virtual link: http://tinyurl.com/LANLEPCUEA2.
